Made In Peckham
This is some very old work I did for Carolina Caicedo:

The project was 'Made In Peckham' a project looking at businesses in Rye Lane, Peckham and trying to explore them through textile design. I worked on a fabric for a shipping company called Base 1 shipping, that transported goods between Sierra Leone and the UK. What I found interesting was the items sent to Sierra Leone from the guy who ran the place. When he sent shipping containers across he often sent old second hand clothes and shoes to friends and family out there, as he would import back in mainly Fruit and Vegetables. I decided to concentrate on this idea and create couplets to be re-printed in a pattern, of fruit and shoes.
