Screen Printing

I've just completed a screen printing course. It was a lot of fun, and I'm pretty pleased with what I printed. I was working on a palm leaf design, so I used it as a way of trying out some ideas.

The base motif in a bright green and an apple green. These were made by exposing a design on to a screen painted with light sensitive emulsion.

 And an overlay in two different colours

As we didn't have time to do the registry of the screen properly, the pattern is a little haphazard, but I like the effect. I really like the two colours together too.

It's made me want to do more, so I've been looking into methods of screen printing and other methods of printing fabric at home. I've discovered you can get an emulsion that resists drawing ink, so you can actually paint directly on to a screen. thinking about buying a screen to try this with!
